Courtney Palmer has over 25 years of professional experience in psychoeducational and community risk reduction community service. During her time as the Manager for the Public Education Unit at Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, Courtney delivered programming and resources on community risk reduction in the fields of fire and life safety such as general fire safety, car seat education, poison safety, water safety, pedestrian and bicycle safety, hurricane awareness, and situational awareness. In both 2011 and 2021, Courtney was recognized as the FIABC (Fire Inspectors Association of Broward County) “Fire Public Educator of the Year.”

In December 2020, Courtney founded this Coalition and served as Chair until she turned it over to the capable hands of Barb Hendrickx in March of 2022. Courtney retired from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue after 18 years to pursue her lifelong dream of owning her own business as a keynote speaker, trainer, and consultant utilizing her life experience and extensive training as a curriculum expert and educator. At Perfectly Loud, she provides training and consulting services to first responder agencies, municipal governments, businesses, and organizations to raise awareness, encourage understanding, embrace diversity, and reduce bias to facilitate an inclusive work culture and improve customer relations on local, state, and nation levels.

In April 2022, Courtney rejoined the Coalition during the first formation of the Executive Board and served as an At-Large member. In April 2024, Courtney was appointed to the position of President.
