Officer Cathy Chastain has dedicated her career to serving and protecting the community as a member of the Davie Police Department. With over a decade of service, she has distinguished herself through her unwavering commitment and passion for her work. Recognized for her exceptional contributions, Cathy was honored as the 2021 Florida Police Chiefs Association Officer of the Year, a testament to her tireless dedication and the positive impact she has had on the community.

As an LGBTQ+ Ally and Liaison, Officer Chastain has been instrumental in fostering trust and understanding between the police force and the LGBTQ+ community. She has worked diligently to ensure that all individuals feel safe and respected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Her efforts have included organizing sensitivity training for her colleagues, advocating for inclusive policies, and providing a supportive presence at LGBTQ+ events. In addition to her work with the LGBTQ+ community, Officer Chastain serves as the Homeless Outreach Coordinator for the Davie Police Department and Vice Chair for the Multi-Agency Homeless Taskforce. Through her dedicated outreach efforts, Cathy has helped countless individuals find stability and hope and was recognized this year as Officer of the Year by the Taskforce For Ending Homelessness.
