Officer Cathy Chastain has dedicated her career to serving and protecting the community as a member of the Davie Police Department. With over a decade of service, she has distinguished herself through her unwavering commitment and passion for her work. Recognized for her exceptional contributions, Cathy was honored as the 2021 Florida Police Chiefs Association Officer of the Year, a testament to her tireless dedication and the positive impact she has had on the community.

As an LGBTQ+ Ally and Liaison, Officer Chastain has been instrumental in fostering trust and understanding between the police force and the LGBTQ+ community. She has worked diligently to ensure that all individuals feel safe and respected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Her efforts have included organizing sensitivity training for her colleagues, advocating for inclusive policies, and providing a supportive presence at LGBTQ+ events. Her role in this capacity has not only bridged gaps but also strengthened community relations.

In addition to her work with the LGBTQ+ community, Officer Chastain serves as the Homeless Outreach Coordinator for the Davie Police Department and Vice Chair for the Multi-Agency Homeless Taskforce. She has shown a deep compassion for the homeless population, working to connect individuals with essential services such as housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Through her dedicated outreach efforts, Cathy has helped countless individuals find stability and hope and was recognized this year as Officer of the Year by the Taskforce For Ending Homelessness. Her holistic approach to policing underscores her belief in the power of community engagement and her commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those she serves.
